FOUNDERS MESSAGE

Welcome to our world of Naturally Green Products.

We are so proud to introduce you to our labor of love, the official launch of two years of formulating, testing and certifying an extensive line of ‘green’ cleaning products for all industries and cleaning requirements.

For over twenty years I have had the privilege of providing maintenance services to a wide variety of industries. We used products from almost every manufacturer in the marketplace with the key ingredients being caustic compounds which are very harmful to human skin and the respiratory system, but there were no other alternatives.

Around the year 2003 I noticed a shift happening within our customer base toward a safer and cleaner Indoor Air Quality environment. The media was responsible for bringing more awareness to the general public about the need to make better choices for our health and well being, which I was very pleased to see. Due to this awareness positive changes began to take place.

What inspired me to create an extensive line of ‘Naturally Green Products’? Well, thanks for asking, this is a story I love to share.

A couple of years ago I experienced what it meant to clean a ‘LEED’ Gold certified building. This building was equipped with Indoor Air Quality sensors that would set off an alarm if ‘Volatile Organic Compounds’ (caustic fumes, dust, etc…) where present in the air. (You may not have given thought to this, but the products that are used to clean a building or a home can be your friend or your worst nightmare.) Our task was to find cleaning products that would NOT set off those alarms. Oh, that was a frustrating adventure.

We used product after product that claimed to be ‘green’ yet weren’t. Out of shear frustration, an inspired thought came to me to search for a chemical engineer who I could partner with in creating a complete line of products with a government certification for ‘green chemistry’. We chose the EPA standards as our guideline. We tested these products in the toughest cleaning situations which required performance over and above what a ‘non green’ competitor could provide. The results were that we met and/ or exceeded the cleaning and disinfecting performance of our ‘non green’ competitors.

This is exactly what we strived for and it was created with YOU in mind.

Welcome to our world of Naturally Green Products.

Make it a "green" day. You deserve it.

Here are a few helpful updates to the “green” movement all over the world.

  • Travelocity has added a “micro-site” to their website. You can find information on Green Hotels, Carbon Offset programs, and Volunteer Vacations. These ideas can help you have a “green” vacation.

  • In December 2009, Sony revealed plans for two new phones they are adding to their “greenheart” program. This line of products has lower environmental effects. They are made with recycled products, have water based paint, have low-power phone charges, and even come with a smaller users guide.

  • Ford announced recently that they are expanding their eco-boost engine. These smaller engines improve fuel economy by 10-20 percent and lower carbon dioxide emissions by 15 percent. These engines will be in 90 percent of cars by 2013.

  • On January 20, 2010 the IAQA (Indoor Air Quality Association) and the IESO (Indoor Environmental Standards Association) announced that they will be joining together to create some Industry Standards. There should be a draft available for community feedback before the end of 2010.

February Green Cleaning Tips

  • Remember “green” doesn’t JUST come from a bottle, but also from the people who use those products. The more knowledgeable you are about a products use, the better.

  • Using a HEPA vacuum will actually cut the amount of dust and dirt going back into the air and help improve Indoor Air Quality.

  • Use Microfiber Towels! These are hypoallergenic, non-electrostatic and are environmentally friendly. They absorb seven times more than regular cloths and can be dried out and re-used. These towels “store” dirt until they are washed. These towels can be washed (without fabric softener) and be reused.

Simple Ways to Go GreenER
By: Josefina M Henselin

Going green is becoming really popular. In the past few years, many people have realized the importance of being more eco-friendly. There are a lot of people that still believe going green means paying more; that’s not necessarily the case any longer. There are many ways to go green that can actually save money; sometimes you save the money right away, and sometimes your savings comes in the long run- like with energy use. Here is some simple money saving steps everyone can do to go green. These ideas can be used in the office and at home.

  • Buy recycled products. Today, you can purchase recycled writing paper, printing paper, sticky notes, notepads, file folders, toilet paper, paper towels, and even ink cartridges and toners.

  • Recycle. In addition to the most common recycled items of paper, plastic bottles, and cans; you can also recycle electronics, ink cartridges and toners. You can even find office supply chains that refill ink/toner cartridges for you, or buy the ink to refill it yourself.

  • Conserve. When printing papers, print on both sides of the paper, this gives you twice the use of your paper! Another way to conserve paper is to reuse. When you make a mistake, or do not need the printed document any longer, cut it into four pieces and you have instant notepaper. You can use these scrap papers in lieu of sticky notes or notepads before you recycle them.

  • Communicate digitally. Any reports or communication that you need to print and send, can be sent via email or even efax. You can save a lot of printing and postal costs by simply using the email you currently have.

  • Conserve Electricity. Turning off computers and printers when they are not in use is good, unplugging them is best. Lights that are turned off during non-office hours can help as well. There are also sensors that can be installed in bathrooms and storage rooms so they only turn on when someone is in the room.

  • Turn it down/up. Turning down the thermostat in the winter and turning it up in the summer, just by a few degrees, can save you up to 5 percent savings on your energy bill PER DEGREE. If you adjust the thermostat even more after hours, you’re looking at a major change in your bills and your contribution to the environment.

  • Buy energy saving products. There are many Energy-saving products out there, a little research can go a long way.

  • Buy Green Cleaning Products. This will save costs elsewhere, like in Health Insurance and employee sick days.

Again, these are just a few eco-friendly ideas that will help you be more “green.” The extent you follow them is up to you.
