Green Definitions
Natural
Natural ingredients are “natural” if they are from: a plant or microbial or made with processing that does not change them chemically.
Enzyme
Enzymes are living organisms. These enzymes help to breakdown proteins.
Citric Acid
This is a derivative of citrus fruit, it is a natural acid and helps adjust the ph of a product.
Biodegradable
A biodegradable material is one that will breakdown and decompose into elements found in nature when it is exposed to air, moisture and bacteria or other organisms* – *definition from the FTC
Corn-Based Ethanol
Corn-Based ethanol is produced from the fermentation of cornstarch into alchol.
Xanthan Gum
Xanthan gum is a thickening agent made from the fermentation of natural sugar.
Lactic Acid
Lactic Acid is produced from breakdown of natural sugars in fruits and vegetables and other similar sources.
Plant-Based
Plant-Based means the ingredients come from vegetables, fruits, grains as well as trees, herbs and other types of plants.
